These are a series of interactive workshops that are community based and focused on feminine hygiene, health and emotional wellbeing, intimate care conversations.

Intimate care and wellbeing

The workshop is for mothers/grandmothers or care givers of preteen and early teen girls.

To encourage informed practices for healthier, more confident lives for mothers & daughters.  The sessions are safe spaces, with no shaming or judgment, allowing people feel safe to relate, ask questions, network and get support or help where needed. Topics include mindfulness, puberty, feminine hygiene, mental health, emotional wellbeing and stress management.

Our experienced team includes medical personnel to provide support and answer questions that attendees may have. As part of the workshop, we give away a first period kit which serves as a self-help period kit curated with period essentials and toiletries to educate, support and boost girls’ confidence. Sometimes a mother & daughter get to win a photo-shoot session.

We hope to host 6 workshops from March to December 2024.

Outcomes

  1. Improved Well-being: Mothers and daughters acquire essential knowledge and skills for maintaining their health, contributing to improved overall well-being within the community. Women and girls are empowered to take charge of their physical and emotional health, enabling them to participate more fully in various aspects of life.

  1. Community Support Networks: The workshops help in facilitating the creation of a supportive community where individuals can share experiences and resources, promoting a sense of belonging and empowerment. Education on intimate care and well-being will equip participants with knowledge to make informed choices about their health, fostering a sense of empowerment and autonomy. In addition, encourage a more informed and open-minded community.

  1. Building Stronger Mother-Daughter Bonds: Our workshops will strengthen the bond between mothers and daughters by fostering open communication about health-related topics that are often considered taboo. Creating a supportive environment for these conversations will contribute to healthier relationships and the passing down of knowledge through generations.

  1. Community Awareness and Education: Through our workshops, we will contribute to raising awareness within the wider community about the importance of menstrual health and overall well-being
